Volumetric Fog & Mist 2 is a complete and performant immersive AAA fog solution used in games like Gigaya, Praey for the Gods, MarZ: Tactical Base Defense, Falling Frontiers, Sky Fleet, Frontline ZED and many others.

Key Features:

 Fog areas: create and position any number of fog areas, of any size and features in Editor or at runtime.

 Simple workflow: add fog volumes as you would create and move/scale gameobjects.

 Fog voids: you can create several fog voids easily in the scene making 3D holes into the fog (1 fog void supported in the built-in version).

• Native directional light support with shadows including cascade option.

• Native URP spot & point lights support with shadows.

 Fast point lights option: this feature can cast light on the fog from up to 16 (or even more) point lights with additional global controls for intensity and range and much better performance.

 Fog of war with interactive editor which allows you to paint, clear or color the fog areas with a brush or using scripting in Editor and runtime.

 Terrain fit option: ability to adapt to any kind of surface below the fog.

 Depth blur/light scattering option for maximum realism.

• Sun light diffusion and specular effects.

• Distant fog: cover horizon/sky/far distances with performant fog.

Volumetric Fog & Mist 2 fully supports built-in and URP, including forward, forward+ and deferred rendering path and is recommended by Unity as a volumetric solution in URP.


This asset includes 2 packages, created from scratch and optimized for each rendering pipeline with focus on workflow usability, performance and ease-of-use:

URP pipeline:

• Unity 2020.3 or later (LTS version is recommended).

• Universal Rendering Pipeline 10.5.1 or later.

 Setup tutorial (only for URP version).

Built-in pipeline:

• Unity 2020.3 or later (LTS version is recommended).

• Just add VolumetricFog script to your camera and configure! Please read the included documentation (PDF) and demos for explanation of all options.
